Valle del Este Golf Resort, Almeria

Valle del Este Golf Resort

An elegant hotel on it’s own stunning golf course, Hotel Valle del Este offers fantastic value for money with 7 nights, half board & 5 rounds of golf from £368!

Mr Reid – Valle del Este ws our favourite course because we played it 3 times.  Poor first round then because we knew where not to go we had a good 3 rounds!  We all had a tough time at Desert Springs and Aguillon because we had not played them before – some bad club selection and poor scores :-(   We had a good holiday overall, hotle was good allround and we enjoyed it. Drinks and lunches seemed much more expensive but that was because of the pool value of sterling.  The hire vehicles were great, cheap on fuel and good to have no Excess!

Mr Winstone – We only played Valle del Este and it was EXCELLENT, but the pro-shop prices were outrageous.  We would also like to see buggies included included in the holiday price.

Dona Filipa & San Lorenzo Resort

Dona Filipa HotelDona Filipa has long been a golfers favourite, a fine hotel and the opportunity to play the famous San Lorenzo Golf Course.  There are some superb offers with free golf available in the winter months and we really don’t think you will be disappointed!  Take a look at what others think:

Mr Upson – we only played San Lorenzo, it was in lovely condition with fabulous views.  Mr Upson rated his golf holiday overall as excellent and said he would return!

Mr Pullen – We thought San Lorenzo was very pretty and a good test of golf, the course was very busy resulting in slow play.  The shuttle service from the hotel was not really frequent enough.

Mrs James – Our 4th visit to Dona Filipa and not the last!  The hotel is superb and within walking distance to a selection of restaurants and beautiful beach.  San Lorenzo was, as ever, superb.  We cannot recommend this resort highly enough!

Islantilla Golf Resort, Costa de la Luz

Islantilla Golf Resort

With half board included as standard and excellent value golf packages on its own golf course, it’s no wonder the Islantilla Golf Resort is so popular with golfers!

There are some great offers this winter with 3 Nights, Half Board, & 3 Rounds just £133pp!

Take a look at some of the recent reviews we have received from Premier Iberian customers:

Mr Williams – Course is rather difficult off the white tees, but most enjoyable . Much easier off the yellow tees.  An excellent holiday with no complaints at all!

Mr Handson – It is frustrating to be paired with other golfers who are high handicappers as this slows play.

Mrs Hughes – Holes 10 – 27 are our favourites, 1 – 9 is more tiring but we enjoyed it as well.  Great hotel – we have told our friends about Premier Iberian!

Mr Smyth – We enjoyed all combinations of the 27 holes at Islantilla, 1 – 9 were probably the most difficult.  The hotel could consider providing more beef dishes and various potatoe dishes. We enjoyed a free hours bar daily during our stay!

Mr Peters – The best golfing holiday we have had, we usually go to Portugal but we now feel that Islantilla offered the best value for money.  The hotel was great and the food good, we enjoyed the Islantilla courses, we also played El Rompido North & South which we also enjoyed.

Rota – ‘Real Spain’ and some Great Golf

Mr Lees and his party of 4 stayed at Hotel Duque de Najera, in Rota, Cadiz during October 2009.
Costa Ballena
Costa Ballena

Costa Ballena  - enjoyed the course, good holiday golf.  Helpful staff, only problem was only 3 electric trolleys depsite reservation and 2 broke down!  Need to upgrade these!  However compensated with 2 free buggies on our next round – a very professional response.

Montecastillo – enjoyed the layout and elevated tees.  However the greens were not in as good condition as Costa Ballena.

Hotel Duque de Najera

Hotel Duque de Najera

Plenty of good value restaurants in Calle Mina in rota. la Concha Tapas opposite the hotel also very good.  We loved the ‘real Spain’ feel of Rota.  Hotel was excellent, only criticism is that the internet access is a bit unreliable (for sad people who have to do  little work on holiday!).

Pleased to get a Peugeot Partner vehicle but service a bit sloppy! Rep. did not greet us at the point where everyone standing with placards so had to seek her out, also did not want to escort us to the car – we had to find it ourselves in airport carpark on a very hot day. she had to attend to other clients.

Overall our Golf Holiday was Excellent!

Cadiz Offers a Slice of Real Spain

Golfers looking to enjoy a truly authentic Spanish golfing experience this winter are advised to check out what the south western province of Cadiz has to offer.

The region is becoming a popular destination for golfers who are keen to play good golf courses away from the over-populated fairways on the Costa del Sol and the Algarve.  With flights into Jerez, Seville or Gibraltar, the area is easily reached and has a lot to offer for those rare days away from the golf course.

El Puerto Golf

El Puerto Golf

There are over 12 great courses in the region, including Novo Sancti Petri, Benalup, El Puerto, Montenmedio, Villa Nueva and Real Club de Golf de SevillaArcos Gardens, now rated as one of the top 100 courses in Europe, located next to the old called town of Arcos de la Frontera, is also a fascinating place to visit.

Costa Ballena Golf is a 27 hole complex located right next to one of the finest beaches and has a delightful flat, parkland layout, which is suitable for all handicaps.

Many golfers will have heard of Montecastillo, a tough and testing course to play and well worth the effort, while Sherry Golf, just on the edge of Jerez, is gaining quite a reputation with its large greens and wide fairways.

Monasterio San Miguel

Monasterio San Miguel

For a great value golfing holiday in Cadiz, Premier Iberian is offering a superb 7 Night, 4 Round package from now until the end of April 2010, staying at the 4* Hotel Monasterio San Miguel in Puerto de Santa Maria from just £281pp.

This delightful hotel, originally a monastery, is located in the heart of the town, close to many great tapas bars and fish restaurants and enjoyed by the Spanish residents and visitors who provide a buzzing atmosphere.

Monty’s Inspiration??

With less than a year now until the Ryder Cup begins at Celtic Manor in Wales, Europe Captain Colin Montgomerie has his mind firmly set on the prize of defeating USA and lifting the cup.

Europe's Ryder Cup Captain

Europe's Ryder Cup Captain

How will the 46 year old Scot motivate his team in the lead up to, and during, this famous 3 day match? Well he hopes to ‘pick the brains’ of a fellow Scot, who is famous for drive and ambition and has enjoyed his fair share of sporting success as Manager of Manchester United Football Club. Monty explains:

“I want to arrange a meeting with Sir Alex. He’s the best man-manager and gets the best out of his players. I would like to learn how to get the best out of my players. Not necessarily when it’s going well, that’s easy, but when we might come in behind after the first day – that’s when it’s most important.”

So, can we expect to see Montgomerie chewing gum throughout the tournament and can the players look forward to the famous ‘hair-dryer’ tactics if they under-perform? We’ll just have to wait and see.
